Edexcel C2 Core Maths
radians, arc length, areas of sectors and segments
You should already be familiar with angles measured in degrees. Now we introduce you to Radians which are another unit of angular measurement that you need to be able to use.
So
Next we move on to using degrees and radians to find
- The area of a sector and the length of an arc.
- Avoid common mistakes, see these Examples
You are now shown how to find the area of a segment but first make sure you are familiar with finding the area of a triangle given two sides and the included angle.
Exam Questions on Sectors and Segments
The following questions will hopefully give you an idea of what you can expect to be asked on areas of sectors and segments and arc length using radians.
