StatsPack for the HP 48GX Calculator
- STATSPACK is a suite of programs that have been written to cover a variety of common statistical functions used in A-level statistics. Although some calculators feature functions for evaluating probabilities from various distributions, to me they never seem easy to use and can often be limited. I also find that I am having to resort to the manual to remember how to use the function and the order of the parameters I have to enter and what probability I end up calculating.
- My aim was to display the input in a style that should be familiar to a student and not have them resorting to manuals each time they want to use a function. The resulting output clearly displays the probabilities in the form P( X > 3)=0.2451 say or P(2 < X < 6 )=0.3467 say to give just two examples from the many on offer.
- StatsPack will calculate probabilities for the following

- Normal Approximation to the Binomial Distribution
- Poisson Probability Distribution
- Normal Approximation to the Poisson Distribution
- Normal Probability Distribution
- Percentage points for the Standardised Normal Distribution
