Looking for challenging maths questions?

We are keen to offer students the chance to develop their skills further by posting what we believe are challenging questions based on the A-level maths syllabus.

To start the ball rolling this question was posted on our maths forum.

Trigonometry: try and prove this identity

Please get in touch via the maths forum or by email and send us a question that you believe offers a challenge. If you have a solution to go with it, please post that as well. Your question will be posted on the site and we will convert the soloution to video and make that available to. You can also have credits on the video if you wish!

The booklet Advanced Problems in Core Mathematics is available on the mathematics faculty web site, and this would be a good starting point for your STEP preparation.

You may also find the booklet Advanced Problems in Mathematics useful; it consists of 43 STEP like problems with discussion, hints and full solutions. It is available, again at modest price, from OCR publications at the above address.
