Roots of a quartic equation
A quartic equation can have (i) 4 real roots or ii) 2 real roots and a complex conjugate pair or iii) 2 pairs of complex conjugate pairs as the following video shows. I then show you how to solve quartic equations that have complex roots by looking at this example:
- Find all the roots of the equation x4 - 9x3 + 22x2 + 28x - 120 = 0.
I want to make maths freely available to all students throughout the world. Over 1500 videos have been completed so far and more go up most days, see my facebook page.
